The Drug & Alcohol Program’s Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) follows a science-based program, Living in Balance, for persons who abuse or are addicted to alcohol and other drugs. It is universally applicable across the various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. The program utilizes techniques that draw on behavioral and experiential treatment approach. This program consists of three 3-hour group sessions and one 1-hour individual sessions per week.

Sessions cover basic educational topics such as:

  • Addiction terms
  • The substances of abuse
  • Triggers and relapse prevention
  • The relationship between sex and substance abuse
  • Various emotional components of addiction and recovery

It consists of both individual and group sessions. Family and Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous involvement is encouraged.

IOP treatment groups sessions are provided each week at the Franklin office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00am – 12:00pm. Individual sessions are held at the Franklin, Oil City, and Titusville offices.

Individuals are expected to participate in all aspects of treatment. This includes treatment planning, attending scheduled sessions and participation in any other supports and services offered by the Drug & Alcohol Program.

Upon completion of IOP, the individual has the opportunity to stay on in treatment on an outpatient basis for one 1-hour individual session per week. Family and Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous involvement is encouraged.
